What biogas is and how it works
Biogas is a form of energy produced from organic waste. Inside special sealed tanks (digesters), organic material is broken down in an oxygen-free environment.
As a result, a gas rich in methane (around 60%) is generated. This gas is then burned in power units to produce electricity and heat.
What remains is digestate – a safe organic fertilizer that can be returned to the soil.
The outcome: a fully closed-loop energy cycle with no harmful emissions and minimal losses.
